Operazione Neptune Bulldog 1 (Mozzi MG POV)
La 6ª Divisione aerotrasportata britannica, non appena atterrata in Normandia, entrò in azione con rapidità: i paracadutisti riuscirono ad assicurarsi il controllo del ponte Pegasus (sul canale di Caen tra Rainville e Bénouville), dei ponti sul fiume Orne, oltre a far saltare i cinque attraversamenti sul fiume Dives e la pericolosa batteria di Merville. Le posizioni sull'Orne e vicino a Caen furono tenute fino all'arrivo dei commando alla fine del 6 giugno
